Mayor Ogden and credit card use

Last week our Mayor David Ogden faced criticism for spending thousands of dollars of rate payer money on donations, fancy meals and expensive bottles of wine. Some of the spending will seem extravagant and an insult to many ratepayers facing economic hardships. Not supporting local businesses and getting intoxicated at the ratepayers’ expense adds insult to injury.

Councillors happy with high numbers of Pokies

It is shocking Hutt City councillors are refusing to take any responsibility for problem gambling in the City. In most other areas in New Zealand, pokie numbers are reducing, but not so in Lower Hutt. Numbers are on the rise, but the Strategy and Policy Committee do not want a cap on numbers. They are happy with Lower Hutt having the maximum allowable.
